Action alert is a site that helps parents monitor what their children look at. It helps everyone get the benfits of the internet, without the temptation to look at things that one should not look at. It can connect to a parents phone, therefore, if the child is on a questionable website, it will send that information to the parent, this way, they can always be on guard. I believe this helps the child not do it, because they know if they do it will get sent to their parents. I give it a 7 out of 10.

Safe eyes is one of the rising sites to keep the family safe from the harm the internet can cause in one's life. It does three main things. It filters, reports, and works. It filters quesitonable sites that it deems bad. Next, it reports it to whom ever the parent has it linked up to accountability for. You can link it up to another computer, an email account, even in the form of a text message. This helps knock out the problem right when it arises. Finally, it works. This site is not a scam, and it has been proven to work. I give it a 9 out of 10.

The parents edge is a great sites for parents to review often. It offers warnings signs in their childs life if they are going down the wrong path on the internet. It offers seven signs that might indicate that their children are not doing what they are supposed to be doing. Some of these signs include turning off or minimizing computer programs when you walk in room, having nothing in your history, this means they are constantly deleting what they have been looking at, or are staying up to late on the computer. The internet is a scary place that can harm children, that is why parents should monitor this site so they can be on the watch for warning signs. I give this site a 7 out of 10.

NC Wise Owl is a simple site that has the basic titles and topics laid out for the user in blac out. It hits bullying, internet awareness, internet safety, parent smart, children online, and a guide for parents to keep their children safe. This is a great site for a person not in tune with the full effect of technology. It is easy to read, easy to access, and easy to use. It would be great for parents because it can help them learn how to be safe, then they can teach their children how to be safe. I give this site a 7 out of 10.

The FBI website that I looked at is a website that all parents should look at. It is literally a cry-out to all parents to take control of what their children look at on the internet. It explains how it is corrupting their future and eventually corrupting our country through the lack of discipline into the older ages. This site gives out tips to parents to let them know signs that might indicate that their child may be involved in something on the internet that they should not be involved in. This is a great site because it puts the responsibility on the parent to take the stand for their child, family, future, and country. I give this site a 9 out of 10.

Teachers Sites:

Wired safety is a website that has really been involved with the government. This is really a site trying to focus on knocking out cyberbullying, and the effects it has on students and the peers around them. It offers great ways to intervene with this new bad habit that has arisen. It has great tools to pinpoint, catch, and stop cyberbullying, hoping to knock it out fully in the future.

iSafe is modern site that is really connecting with teachers and students today. Congress is really buying in to what this website is about. It is trying to portray the internet as a place that should be safe and a place that should be expanding everyone's mind, but people today are abusing it. It is promoting the overall safety of the community and how we can make the internet a safe place, especially in our schools.

On Guard Online is a great teaching website. It lays out the dangers of the internet, and how that can effect the student in a negative way. It reminds students of the consequences that come with looking at things on the internet that you should not look at. Not only is it corrupting their mind, but their future family, and how they view their husband or wife, they get a false image of what a human looks like. It explains the importance of thinking before you post something on the internet, because once you post something on the internet, it is there for good. Each topic is laid out vividly, which would make it easy for a teacher to present to their class.

Net Smartz is a great websites for younger students to learn from. It is a fun website which would keep the attention of younger students trying to learn the importance of internet safety, and how it can hurt them if they do not be careful. The layout of the website is really fun, bright, and colorful. All it does is give out tips for being safe on the internet, such as not posting something you would not be alright with the whole world seeing, along with many others. This would be easy and fun for a teacher to use to teach because they are all layed out and would be easy to explain and even expand upon.

Teachers First is a great website not just for students, but more so for teachers. Sometimes the teachers do not know how specifically to teach internet safety. To start off, this site calls out to the teachers to let them know the important role they have as teachers to inform the students of the importance of internet safety. Next, it helps and equips the teachers to be able to tell the students about internet safety. It has specific topics on hot topics that would be important to address to students at that particular time. It helps not only the student grow, but helps the teacher grow also.

Reflection:
I have learnt a lot from reviewing these websites. The importance of internet safety has so much more meaning now, because I now notice the bad effects it can have on a person, not just for the short term, but in the long run, the very long run. It has given me ideas to help me to help others be safe when they are on the internet, whether it is future students that i help, or my own children that I want to protect from the sin that this world is trying to offer and destroy children with. These are some great sites to open awareness to the realities of the dangers of the internet, but offers help to overcome it.
